The Land Beyond

The Land Beyond - Watercolour, 18 cm x 25 cm

This is a view just next to my home. It seemed a bit strange to get all set for going out painting, and then set up after walking such a short distance. I was attracted to the feeling of great distance beyond the enclosed foreground. The title is a reference to that effect, but it could also refer to the fact that Caithness is often called the 'Land Beyond the Highlands'.
