Harbour Buildings at Sarclet

Harbour Buildings at Sarclet

Watercolour, 16 x 26 cm

Old buildings left from the time when herring fishing was a big industry in Caithness. Wherever it was possible to get down to the sea, along the rugged coastline of high cliffs, there were little harbours with buildings for processing and storing fish.

  2. Thanks René, yes I did use masking fluid for the rocks. I don't mind which make I use, but I think this was from Jackson's Art Materials. I apply it with an old brush, and to stop it clogging the bristles I find it helps to wet it and wipe it on a bar of soap first.
