Moorland Colours

Moorland Colours
Watercolour, 17 x 25.5 cm

The colours of the countryside around here are wonderful at the moment. I painted this one evening, when the sun lit up the landscape after some heavy showers.

  1. I do like this one, Keith. The atmosphere is beautiful. Do you do all the painting outside, on the spot, or do you make sketches and then finish the painting, when you get home?

  2. I like this Keith. Youv'e got a real sense of movement in the clouds and shadows racing across the landscape.

  3. Thanks Diane. I prefer to work outside, but if I am hiking into wild country, or the weather is too bad, I use sketches and photographs. This one was done outside. I looked out of the window one evening and the light was crying out to be painted, so I set up my easel in the garden.

  4. Glad you like it Stuart. It was the sun and shadows on the landscape that made it so attractive.
