Ben Hope

Ben Hope
Watercolour, 23 x 34 cm

Here is another painting from the Sutherland trip. This one was painted in front of the subject.

Ben Hope is the most northerly of Scotlands Munros. The Munros are mountains over 3,000 feet in height and some people, known as Munro-baggers, aim to climb all 284 of them.

  1. Aaah there is the little friend "the artist's licence tree" from Liathach, or am I wrong?

Anyway, the landscapes are huge, together with the watercolors!

    (We should swap someday.)

  2. Yep! I can't slip anything past you can I René? The left-hand side was a bit empty and I couldn't find an angle where it looked any better.

  3. Ah well, it's a nice companion, a bit silly but you'll always have a nice model ;-P

  4. It is nice to see the sun coming out, after the rain. The 200+ mountains, each in the vicinity of 3,000 metres, does sound a little gruelling - let's hope that the enthusiasts can at least experience lots of sunny days!

  5. Another great painting. I think it may be time to swap my small Yorkshire Crags for more dramatic landscape. I think I can feel a holiday coming on.

  7. Thanks Rob. This is the kind of subject that I get a real 'buzz' out of painting.
