Moving Mountains

Sometimes as an artist you have to move mountains! I had painted this landscape a while ago, but looking at it again I didn't like the background and the sky. I could just have repainted them, but I thought a more open view would make a better composition, so I painted an imaginary, typical Flow Country view, behind.

Version 1 - Below Morven
Acrylic, 8 x 10 inches, 20 x 25 cm

Version 2 - Derelict Croft House
Acrylic, 8x 10 inches, 20 x 25 cm

  1. Keith.. really like what you have done with this piece. Great sky ! I think that by taking the mountain out,you now have a piece with one subject. No competition or fight for attention. Nice..

    Hey, take care.. :-)

  2. Hello Frank. Thanks for dropping in.

It takes a bit of courage, but sometimes you have to risk ruining a painting in order to create something better (as I'm sure you know).

    Glad you like the improvements.
